We will offer two Certified Healthcare Emergency Coordinator courses in the region in 2025. The first is slated for January 28-30 in Roanoke, VA, and April 8-10th in Abingdon, VA. This training provides students with an introduction to emergency management principles, key components, and an overview of regulations about emergency preparedness and response programs. The over-arching goal of this training is to ensure healthcare leadership and those serving in various emergency coordinator roles gain a better understanding of the multiple components of the overall healthcare system, including threats to the facility and the community, the emergency planning process, and emergency management principles.
This knowledge will help participants to demonstrate more enhanced and effective leadership during an incident. Immediately following the Basic course, we will conduct the 1-day CHEC Advanced courses. This comprehensive training provides healthcare leadership and emergency coordinators with an in-depth guide detailing emergency plan basics, plan development, annexes, and appendices to plans, implementation of plans, evaluating quality plans, and exercising emergency plans.
