The SVHC Coalition Advisory Committee serves as the guiding body for the Healthcare Coalition, offering regional direction, advice, and recommendations to ensure consistency, clarity, and strong governance. As part of Virginia's cooperative agreement, SVHC operates under the 501(c)(3) status of the Western Virginia EMS Council in collaboration with the Virginia Healthcare Emergency Management Program (VHEMP).

Stakeholders from each area of expertise are appointed to the committee, which meets quarterly. A governance document provides a structure for its operation.
