Welcome to your first announcement from the newly formed Southwest Virginia Healthcare Coalition (SVHC). Formerly known as the Near Southwest Preparedness Alliance and the Far Southwest Hospital Preparedness Commission. SVHC’s mission is to support the healthcare infrastructure of Southwest Virginia with disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation resources.
What does this mean for you?
- There will be some documentation changes. For example, make sure your documentation reflects our name change; Southwest Virginia Healthcare Coalition (SVHC) and make sure your documentation includes the Regional Healthcare Coordination Center (RHCC) number in case of emergency 1-866-679-7422
- You will have ample opportunity to meet and engage with a variety of new partners
- You also have the option to get plugged in and partner with SVHC in various ways; see below.
- The Weekly Situational Brief: a newsletter published Tuesdays at 8:00 am delivering you emerging threats and trends in healthcare emergency preparedness and planning. That also includes exercise opportunities and training announcements and more. (www.nspa1.org/brief)
- VHASS: The Virginia Healthcare Alerting and Status System has been consolidated to reflect our new region. This platform is used by healthcare interests across the Commonwealth to communicate issues relating to emergency management. (www.vhass.org)
- We will now operate two office locations, as well as 2 warehouse locations
