Mary Kathryn Alley joined NSPA in October 2018 as the Medically Vulnerable Populations Coordinator. She came to the coalition after serving as a Community Relations Specialist for the Landmark Group, LLC, whose areas of service include long-term care, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and short-term rehabilitation. Mary Kathryn is a Virginia Tech graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Business Leadership. In July of 2024, she accepted the position of Regional Healthcare Coordinator for the Southwest Virginia Healthcare Coalition.

Mary Kathryn focuses on growing and maintaining regional relationships to enhance coordination and collaboration, two of the coalition's core capabilities.

Monica joined the staff at SVHC in November of 2014, following her service as an Emergency Coordinator for the Virginia Dept. of Health, in the Central Virginia Health District, based out of Lynchburg. Before that, Monica had both a military and Law Enforcement background, including 5 years working in the field of nuclear security. She brings a very rich and diverse skill set to our organization.

Monica’s primary role here at SVHC includes developing, coordinating, and facilitating training and exercises surrounding medical surge and healthcare continuity of operations within the region. She is excited to be instrumental in increasing healthcare preparedness, strengthening resiliency, as well as fostering key partnerships throughout the region.
